Category Advisors
Adding advisors to a specific category will give them access to work with any student in that category. This access will override your organization or advisor Peer Access settings.
Important Note: Advisors added to student categories will get notifications about the students in that category. (nightly communication will include that student, reminders, etc).
Why is this important? If you want an advisor to ONLY work with a specific student category, ex: "student athletes" then turn your Peer Advisor Access to "none" and modify="no" (settings found in Organization Configuration), then add the advisor as a category advisor on "student athletes".
Sub Organizations with Access (only displayed if applicable)
This feature will only appear for parent organizations that have sub-organizations - but if you are a large organization with multiple locations or franchises, and have been set up as a Master GuidedPath account, you can give access to your sub-organizations to add or remove their own students to a student category at your "corporate" or upper-level office.
Why is this important? This allows an expert at the corporate level access to work with students from a sub-organization. Perhaps your athletic recruiting expert is in your corporate office. Sub-organizations that add their students to the "student athlete" category can be accessed by the expert through their access to that category.
Note: Advisors in a sub-organization cannot be added as a category advisor in a category created at an upper level, or corporate office.
