FAQ - How and when are application deadlines updated?

The application deadlines are provided by Wintergreen Orchard House and updated with dates provided by the colleges each September. Occasionally, colleges will change a deadline after September due to unexpected circumstances such as weather, system outages, etc. In these cases, GuidedPath will update deadlines as soon as we know about them. Advisors are encouraged to email us at [e-mail] regarding any change required in an application deadline. These are all examples of "verified" deadlines. 

To help rising seniors early in their application cycle (before the formal updates in September), application deadlines for the upcoming year are assumed to be the same as the past year and rolled to have the upcoming year in the deadline. The dates are identified as "Projected" and are provided for early planning. Once the date is finalized, the "Projected" will be replaced with "Verified". 

The College Deadlines and Application Plan Details will show the deadlines, when they were last updated, and if they are projected. The date in the Updates column on the College Deadlines page is a link for quick access to the school's website to review any additional information about the application deadlines. Due to the dynamic nature of these dates, it is always recommended to double check them, particularly as the deadlines approach. 

The details on when the dates were last updated and the link to the college website is also available on the Application Plan Details. Again, this link is to verify dates and requirements on the school's website. 

If a student has an application plan already created and it needs to be updated for the upcoming year or due to a change tin the deadline, a red warning will be shown on the application plan details for the school. The last updated date is shown and whether the dates are verified at the top of the page. The dropdown provides all the valid application types allowed by the college plus a user defined date. The red warning message is shown if a deadline has been update. To update the application plan, click on the blue "here". This will update all milestones with college and students deadlines relative to the updated deadline.
