The application plans are created based on how you have the default application milestone plan set up in your Organization Configuration. We have set up an initial default for you, but you can customize it as you desire. You can also create college-specific application milestones. If a college has a college-specific application milestones created, then it becomes the new default. The default settings are used to create the application plan for all schools. Each individual plan for each student can then be modified further.
To set up default milestones:
1. From the Advisor Shortcuts submenu (dropdown menu under your picture, or initial, on the top menu bar), click on Configure Organization Settings in the Manage My Organization section.
2. Scroll to the section titled Applications - Organization Default Milestones to see the default settings for all applications that do NOT have a college specific application plan. You can use the 3 green buttons to add, edit and delete milestones.
Not only does GuidedPath adjust your application milestone by default to a common application milestone, it will also pull dates for the deadlines. These deadlines are provided by Wintergreen Orchard House and are then updated by our own research team and GuidedPath community.
GuidedPath has additional features to help you in this application planning process. On the Detailed Plan page, you will see an Additional Information section that will give you some more information about what that specific school requires.
Second, if you have a group of schools, like the CSUs, there is a shortcut. If you customize a plan for one school, then you can select the checkbox at the bottom of the page that says "Apply settings to All Unaccepted Plans" and then save it. This will copy all milestones (not dates) from this plan to all other plans that have not been accepted. The dates will be pulled in based on the college deadlines. If you would like to use this feature, the trick is to set up and mark all other schools as "Accepted" (or checkbox on the bottom of the page) first, and then deal with the CSUs.
