What do I need to watch YOUniversity TV videos?
To watch videos on our website you will need a browser that support flash media. All of the latest browser versions Firefox, IE, Chrome, Safari... should have plugins for flash player. YOUniversity TV requires a minimum of Flash 9 or higher. To watch videos while streaming and without interruption (buffering) you will also need a broadband internet connection at minimum 500kbps (broadband, such as: DSL, cable modem, T1 or faster)
The video isn't loading! What do I do?
If you get to the video page and in place where video player is suppose to be all you see is blank area (white or black) please check below for possible problems and solutions. If you get a message that the video is not found, you need to ensure your browser and flash player are both at the latest version possible.
No flash player or older version of flash. To play the YOUniversityTV videos you need a flash player and at least flash 9 version. Make sure that you have the latest flash version installed if not install it and try again. To find out what version of flash you have you can go to flash about. In the middle of this page there is a box with a title marked version Information. Then inside that box it says "You have version xx,x,xx,xx installed" Those numbers tell you your flash version. Go to the website "http://get2.adobe.com/flashplayer/" to update your version of flash player.
- Certain browser plugins / extensions are known to block the flash player. Usually plugins that block/remove Advertising on the page can interfere with the flash video player. Make sure that you have disabled all such plugins when watching the YOUniversityTV videos.
