GuidedPath provides many pre-defined Tagged Lists (see the descriptions below). You can also create your own tagged lists: please follow the instructions here.
To use a pre-defined tagged list in your Guided Search, follow these steps:
1. select a student (or Andy Awesome) to work with
2. Navigate to Colleges > Guided Search
3. Click on the tab of the section you are interested in (either General, Academic, Financial Aid, or Social Experience)
4. To the right of the Tagged list label (ie. General Tagged Lists, Academic Tagged lists.....), choose the appropriate list from the dropdown:
5. Check the "compare" box next to any other criteria you wish to see, and/or select filters to narrow down the results. You can add checkboxes and filters on any of the sections (General, Academic......).
6. Click on the blue "Search" button at the bottom to view your results.
Did you Know?
A student's My Colleges and Interested Colleges are automatically created as tagged lists! Select the "General" section on the Guided Search page. Select "My Colleges" or "Interested Colleges" (or both) to the right of the College Lists label. Check off different "compare" checkboxes to easily see the differences in each of the student's colleges. Export your results to a spreadsheet and share it with your students and families.
GuidedPath Tagged Lists
ACT Subject free:
Students can take the ACT and not submit SUBJECT tests at these colleges. If a student takes the SAT Reasoning, these schools require or recommend 2 Subject Tests be taken as well.

US Based Boarding Schools offering secondary programs. This list only contains schools that are in our database - for a more complete list see http://www.boardingschools.com
Bachelor’s of Science/Medical Doctorate’s Option Schools:
Consultant list: Todd Johnson. Todd's list of universities with associated BS/MD programs for high school students. The focus is on undergraduate school programs offering guaranteed admissions to a medical school. Not all are accelerated.
Catholic Schools and Universities:
Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities List: These colleges are part of a voluntary association, ACCU, founded in 1899 by 53 delegates from Catholic colleges throughout the United States. Since then, the association has grown fourfold to represent more than 90 percent of accredited Catholic institutions of higher learning in the United States, plus approximately two dozen international universities.
Christian Schools:

CSS Profile - IDOC:
Private schools that use IDOC to collect financial paperwork. Through the Institutional Documentation Service (IDOC), the College Board collects families' federal tax returns and other documents on behalf of participating colleges and programs. Dance:
Consultant List (Shan Schumacher BA Dance and Jayne Ruane BA Theatre Masters in Arts Management) List of colleges offering strong performance based dance programs for serious dance students. Most of the programs in this group require an audition as part of the admission process. Most of the programs in this tag are conservatory style programs.
Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Programs:
DPT programs granting direct entry to undergraduate freshmen. Programs are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) and award a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.
FMS College Style - Intuition Feeling:
Colleges that match the Intuition Feeling category of the Find My Spark Survey. The style assigned to a college are based on the institution's educational approach and campus culture.
FMS College Style - Intuition Thinking:
Colleges that match the Intuition Thinking category of the Find My Spark Survey. The style assigned to a college are based on the institution's educational approach and campus culture.
FMS College Style - Sensing Feeling:

High Number of Students with Need Fully Met:
Students with need fully met greater than 60% excluding PLUS loans, unsubsidized loans and private alternative loans. *Used by EFC My Matches
High Percent of Need Met:
The average percent of student need met is greater than 85%. Exclude any aid that was awarded in excess of need as well as any resources that were awarded to replace EFC such as PLUS loans or unsubsidized loans. *Used by EFC My Matches
High Scholarship Coverage:
Total cost covered by scholarships and grants greater than 70% based on the average need-based scholarship or grant awarded and the out-of-state tuition.
High Scholarships Out-of-State:
Scholarships given to out-of-state students greater than 60%
High Scholarships Without Need:
Students with no need receiving scholarships and grants, including athletic, greater than 40%. *Used by EFC My Matches
Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSI):
A Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) is a nonprofit, accredited college, university, or system/district in the U.S. or Puerto Rico, where total Hispanic enrollment constitutes a minimum of 25% of the total enrollment at the undergraduate or graduate level. This list is generated from certified members of the HACU.
Historically Black Colleges:
List of historically accredited black colleges or universities that were established prior to 1964, whose principal mission is the education of black Americans. White House Initiative on Historical Black Colleges & Universities
International Scholarships:
Total scholarship amount awarded to international students exceeds $2.5M.
Ivy League:
"Ivy" was the original name of an athletic league these 8 universities belonged to. Now, Ivy League also refers to some of the most academic and competitive colleges in the United States.
Jesuit Catholic Schools:
Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities (AJCU) is a national organization that represents Jesuit higher education: integrating a commitment to scholarship, faith, and social justice.
Jewish Schools:
This list is compiled from the top 60 Jewish schools in three categories: top 60 public schools, the top 60 private schools, top 60 schools based on percentage of Jewish students. The lists are based on estimated population statistics reported by local Hillels. www.hillel.org
Just Right Schools:
Colleges with 2,000-10,000 students.
Large Financial Aid Package:
Average financial aid package greater than $25K. Exclude any resources that were awarded to replace EFC (PLUS loans, unsubsidized loans and private alternative loans.) *Used by EFC My Matches
Learning Disabilities – Comprehensive:
Consultant List: list of colleges providing COMPREHENSIVE SUPPORT for students with learning disabilities. COMPREHENSIVE SUPPORT = Students have set appointments with a professional learning support person. They meet at least once or twice a week.
Learning Disabilities – Good Support:
Consultant List: list of colleges providing GOOD SUPPORT for students with learning disabilities. She has interviewed staff and screened each college on the list. GOOD SUPPORT = At least one person is on staff full time and see students as they request it.
Learning Disabilities – Minimal Support:
Consultant List: list of colleges providing MINIMAL SUPPORT for students with learning disabilities. She interviewed staff and screened each college on the list. MINIMAL SUPPORT = Staff is available, but rarely meet with student on an ongoing basis.
Learning Disabilities – Strictly Accommodating:
Consultant List: list of colleges providing STRICTLY ACCOMMODATIONS for students with learning disabilities. She interviewed staff and screened each college on the list. STRICTLY ACCOMMODATIONS = Staff is present only to provide accommodations.
Low Loan and Self-Help Coverage:
Total costs covered by loans and self-help lower than 20% based on the average need-based self-help award and the out-of-state tuition. *Used by EFC My Matches
Lutheran Colleges:
List of colleges provided by lutherancolleges.org. All are liberal arts colleges.
Medical Admissions - Accelerated:
Consultant List: These institutions offer accelerated BS/MD programs, allowing students to complete both their undergrad and medical educations in a condensed time-frame.
Medical admissions - Early:
Consultant List: These institutions have programs that allow highly qualified students to apply to medical school earlier than normal (typically sophomore or junior year). At some, admission is guaranteed to students meeting GPA/test score requirements in college.
Moderate Financial Aid Package:
Average financial aid package between $15,000 and $25,000. Exclude any resources that were awarded to replace EFC (PLUS loans, unsubsidized loans and private alternative loans.) *Used by EFC My Matches
Moderate Loan and Self-Help Coverage:

Musical Theater:
Consultant List (Shan Schumacher BA Dance and Jayne Ruane BA Theatre Masters in Arts Management) List of colleges offering strong performance based musical theatre programs for serious Music Theatre students. Many of the programs in this group require an audition as part of the admission process. Most of the programs in this tag are conservatory style programs offering BFA’s. Note: While most colleges house Musical Theatre in the theatre/drama department some house it in the school of music. The programs in the music departments tend to be more voice/singing intensive.
Private FAFSA Only Schools:
Private schools that use only the FAFSA for determining financial aid. The federation methodology is used for all financial aid calculations, not the institutional methodology.

Schools that accept Self-reported Scores:
These colleges and universities allow students to self report SAT and/or ACT test scores themselves or through a counselor when applying. If the student is accepted a official score must be sent.
Schools that do not Superscore the SAT:
Consultant List (Cigus Vanni, school counselor at Cherry Hill HS West in NJ, a former member of the NACAC Professional Development Committee.) Student’s highest result from one test date used without “mixing” individual subtest scores from any other testing sessions.
Schools that require ACT essay:
These colleges and universities require that students take the ACT essay if they want to apply.
Schools that require SAT subject test:

Subject considered:
At many universities the Subject Tests are not required, but they are considered if submitted. This helps a student if he/she has a strength in a subject area that is not being reflected in the standardized ACT or SAT test.
The Tuition Exchange:
(www.TuitionExchange.org) Tuition Exchange is a reciprocal scholarship opportunity for the dependents of eligible faculty and staff at all 640 + member schools.
Theatre Audition:

Is there a way that I can create custom tags? For example: Schools for the average student.
Creating a custom tagged list is not currently available - however, we like the idea and have it on our feature enhancement list!
